Hello there —
As I sit down to write this, I'm filled with a bittersweet mixture of nostalgia and excitement. It's hard to believe how long it's been since the journey of Holistically You, Inc. began in 2017.
What started as a humble endeavor to support women of color in releasing emotional weight as they embarked on their weight management journey, blossomed into something truly remarkable—a sanctuary of holistic health and wellness services, a nurturing space for growth and transformation.
In that time, we forged connections, broke barriers, and touched the lives of women across the globe.
In 2021, I welcomed my own bundle of joy into the world, my beautiful son, and I couldn't help but feel a profound sense of responsibility to ensure that Holistically You, Inc. continued to grow and evolve, just as I was... a recognition that with every new chapter in my life, there comes a corresponding evolution in my work.
As I navigate the depths of motherhood, I realize that Holistically You, Inc. is more than just a business—it is my first baby. It has been with me through the trials and triumphs, a steady presence in the ever-changing landscape of my life.
At some point in our journey, Holistically You, Inc. found itself at a crossroads, much like Peter Pan reluctant to grow up. While I embraced the transformative journey of motherhood, Holistically You, Inc. struggled to let go of its old life, clinging to familiar comforts and resisting change. Like the bittersweet process of becoming a mother, it was a journey marked by both growth and letting go.
And so, it is with both a heavy heart and boundless enthusiasm that I announce the next chapter in this incredible journey: Matrescence in Color, PLLC.
Born out of a desire to support mothers of color as they navigate the transition of becoming a mother—coined "Matrescence", Matrescence in Color is a mature, evolved version of myself and the work that I am passionate about.
At Matrescence in Color, I help mothers of color embrace the transition and adjustment to motherhood with confidence and resilience. I recognize the importance of Black Maternal Mental Health and am committed to filling the critical gap in knowledge and services, providing a safe space for mothers to share their stories, seek support, and find solace in therapy with me, and their community.
To all of you who have supported me on this journey, I extend my deepest gratitude. Whether you've been with me from the beginning or joined along the way, your love, encouragement, trust in me as your provider, and unwavering support have been the driving force behind this incredible adventure.
So, as we bid farewell to Holistically You, Inc., let us embrace this new beginning with open hearts and open minds. Together, let us paint the canvas of motherhood in vibrant hues of resilience, strength, and love.
